The word "arthroscopy" comes from the two Greek words 'arthro' meaning "joint" and 'scope' meaning "look". Therefore, Arthroscopic surgery basically describes a technique "to look inside a joint" using special instruments and equipment. In our group, Drs Conti and Walpole perform the majority of arthroscopic procedures. Their advanced training gives our group another approach to the evaluation and treatment of various ankle and mid-foot conditions.
Examples:
- Cartilage injuries
- Osteoarthritis
- Impingement exostosis
- Meniscoid lesions of the ankle
- Chronic ankle ligament instability
- Septic arthritis
- Rheumatoid synovitis
- Post-traumatic synovial impingement
