September - FAA adds Swiss Dolorclast Extracorporeal Shockwave Machine
The doctors of Foot And Ankle Associates,LLP are pleased to annouce the acquistion of the Swiss Dolorclast Extracorporeal Shockwave machine for the treatment for painful heel conditions such as plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis. ESWT (extracorporeal shock-wave therapy) is a non-invasive treatment that generally does not require anesthesia and takes about 15 minutes to perform in the comfort of our Kennett Square office. April - Spring Sports are here! We list advice for parents on "How to be a Good Sport"
The many advantages of youth sporting events can be offset by negative parent conduct. Although those parents are clearly in the minority FAA felt it would list game day advice for parents from sports psychologist Shane Murphy:
- Cheer for all the children, even those on the other team
- Thank the officials after the game
- Talk to parents on the other team: they're not the enemy
- Be a parent, not a coach: resist the urge to critique
- Stay active: You might be sending a mixed message by encouraging your child to participate in sports but not being involved and/or supportive yourself.
March- Recent article lauds the many advantages of group medical practice. It seems that Foot and Ankle Associates, LLP has gotten it right.
A recent article in a British medical journal reported on their study in terms of solo and group medical practice. February- Dr Contompasis publishes in Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
Dr Jonathan Contompasis published an article entitled Conducting a Meaningful Interview in the January, 2007 issue of Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. This issue was a collection of papers from national authorities written with the common theme of Graduate Medical Education and the Selection and Training of Medical Residents.
Dr Contompasis is the Program Director of the Podiatric Medicine & Surgery residency at Christiana Care, in Wilmington, Delaware.

December- Dr. Richard Conti lectures on Ankle Arthroscopy at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington.
Dr Richard Conti gave a presentation on Arthroscopy of the Ankle to the Christiana Care Foot & Ankle Surgery residents and attending physicians. Dr Conti discussed the newest techniques in using this minimally invasive technology to accurately diagnose and treat various ankle disorders.
November- FAA supports the 2006 Thanksgiving Run/Walk for MS in Wilmington
For the 16th year in a row the Contompasis 5K Non-Competitive Walk took place along with the 10K and 5K Competitive Runs. Over 1000 people participated in this year's event which raised money in support of Multiple Sclerosis research.
